Directions

The Brazilian Room is located in Tilden Park, Berkeley on Wildcat Canyon Road at the the intersection of Shasta road.  Please note that many cell phones do not have coverage in this area.

From San Francisco

Cross the Bay Bridge. Take I-80 east toward Berkeley. Exit University Avenue east to Berkeley. Turn left on Oxford Avenue. Turn right on Rose Street. Turn left on Spruce Street. Cross intersection at top of hill where Spruce Street becomes Wildcat Canyon Road. Continue two miles to the Brazilian Room on the left.

From the North Bay

Cross the Richmond Bridge. Take I-80 west toward Berkeley. Exit University Avenue east to Berkeley. Turn left on Oxford Avenue. Turn right on Rose Street. Turn left on Spruce Street. Cross intersection at top of hill where Spruce Street becomes Wildcat Canyon Road. Continue two miles to the Brazilian Room on the left.

From Modesto/Stockton

Take I-580 East to Oakland, then take CA-13 north toward Berkeley. Exit on the right to get on CA-24 toward Walnut Creek and go through the tunnel.  At east end of Caldecott Tunnel, exit Fish Ranch Road to Grizzly Peak Boulevard. Turn right and continue to Golf Course Road. Turn right again and continue to stop sign. Turn right on Shasta Road. Shasta Road dead-ends into Brazilian Room parking lot.

From the South Bay

Take I-880 North toward Oakland.  Continue on I-980 east toward Walnut Creek (CA-24) Oakland, then take CA-13 north toward Berkeley. Continue on CA-24 east toward Berkeley/Walnut Creek.  At east end of Caldecott Tunnel, exit Fish Ranch Road to Grizzly Peak Boulevard. Turn right and continue to Golf Course Road. Turn right again and continue to stop sign. Turn right on Shasta Road. Shasta Road dead-ends into Brazilian Room parking lot.

If the parking lot is full, please park at the Island Picnic area on Wildcat Canyon Road or on Anza View Road.

BART

Get off at Downtown Berkeley BART station.   There is a taxi stand always with taxis available on Center Street next to the station. Uber and Lyft also operate in this part of town.  Make sure to give your driver the "From San Francisco" directions.  We will make sure someone gives you a ride back to BART afterwards.  

Please note that there is no cell phone reception at the Brazilian Room except for those on the Verizon network. There is a land-line at the room that you can call on the day of the event if you need help:  510-540-9232.  Please also note that it is a winding road to get there and people have gotten lost.  Please be prepared and arrive a few minutes early.  If you are really early, and the weather is good, you can check out the steam trains and catch a brief ride on a 12th scale train.
